NOT FROM INDONESIA - Our Vetivert comes from INDIA and is still steam distilled the traditional way in old copper and iron pots. It is grown in the shade of Ayurvedic medicinal trees along the shores of the Arabian sea. If you have never tried Vetivert before we recommend you try this one - it will surprise and enthrall you with its sweet, deep rose notes!

Scent: Vetivert oil has an earthy, musty smell and is amber to olive in color. It is viscous. Vetivert grass was used in Calcutta for awnings, blinds and sunshades. In Java the roots were used for weaving mats and thatching huts, and in Haiti the grassy parts were also used for thatching. It gave rooms an exquisite fragrance and deterred insects.

Properties and Uses: Vetivert oil calms and soothes the mind, thus helping with nervous tension and stress. It can revitalize the body and help with mental and physical exhaustion. Vetiver oil can be effective for rheumatism, arthritis and muscular aches and pains and can also be useful with insomnia. It is thought to create harmony at home.
